  Metropolitan Patchwork Society
  March 25, 2008
  Bethel Congregational Church

  The meeting was called to order by Chair, Michelle Herrmann at 6:30 PM.  Michelle opened the meeting with a science experiment and spoke about   the many comments she received about the success of the last general meeting (potluck with silent auction).  She brought the attention of those        present to the table handout which was a call for volunteers to be on the nominating committee for next year's board.  The term runs September 1,      2008 through August 31, 2009.  Elections will be at the May General meeting.  She is currently still inventigating what openings there will be in the      position line-up.  Michelle encouraged all memebers to pick up their roster.

  Workshops
  Raelynn Heintz had patterns for sale for the upcoming Judy Niemeyer classes.  Monday's class is Sunflower Illusions.  tuesday's class will be Indian   Summer, which is now open to 25 people.  patterns will also be available next month.  Raelynn asked for volunteers willing to bring their irons/boards   and power strips to the classes.

  Programs
  Carol Razsor outlined the next four programs (April - Terry Grant, May - Judy Niemeyerk, June - open, July - Cher Smith)

  Newsletter
  Betty Miller reported that old Society pages were available for the taking from a table near the entrance of the meeting room.

  Vicky Fund
  It was announced the committee that $621.50 was collected fro the silent auction in February

  Finance
  It was announced that the February and the wintr quarter financial reports were4 available for perusal.

  Quarterly Winnings
  Dessie Carpentr promoted the basket block which will be due and darwn at the May General meeting.

  Misc announcements
  Kaffe Fassett will be speaking at Fibers in Motion.  Tickets are on sale for his presentation.
  Pat Sandberg expressed gratitude for all who supported the quilt show at her Cedar Hills church.  It was very successful.
  The quilt shop in Lincoln City is closing.

  Program
  Carol Rasor introduced the program speaker.  Victoria Jones from A Common Thread spoke about her involvement in the quilting world.  She showed   a pleasing variety of small quilts and clothing with her embellishments, including "Glitz".  She generously had several notions from the shop that          were drawn for prizes.

  Inspirations
  This evening's theme is pastel quitls.  next month's theme is batiks in quilts.
